AP Govt plans to arrange tours for public to show development

Vijayawada: Minister for Municipal Administration P Narayana said here on Friday that the government would show the development works of Amaravati capital to the people of State by arranging special buses. He inspected the construction works of quarters of the MLAs and the Ministers in Amaravati capital. 

On this occasion, he said that the construction works of 3,840 quarters of the MLAs and the Ministers would be completed by December. The roads in Amaravati are being laid at a cost of Rs 25,000 crore, he said and added that other administrative buildings would be constructed with Rs 11,000 crore. 

Similarly roads, water works, drainage works, cable network, gas pipelines and greenery are being developed along with other works. He asked Opposition leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy to visit the development works personally or send a team of members of his party to know the developments. He suggested to the Opposition leader not to criticise the development of Amaravati without proper knowledge. The government is spending Rs 48,000 crore for creating basic infrastructure alone, he said.

The Minister said that as many as 7,000 houses are being constructed for agriculture workers out of which 5,000 houses would be completed by December. He said that the government finalised a plan to showcase the development of Amaravati capital to public by providing special buses as transport facility to various areas across the State. The programme would start after the monsoon, he said.
