AP Govt urged to take over model schools
Vijayawada: MLC Boddu Nageswara Rao demanded the state government to take all the model schools across the state under its control as per the recommendations of the MLCs' committee. Teachers from across the state participated in a protest demonstration at the Dharna Chowk here on Friday which was organised by Andhra Pradesh Model School Teachers Federation (APMSTF).
Addressing the gathering, MLC B Nageswara Rao said that for the last five years, he was studying the problems of the Model School Teachers (MST), who were imparting quality education to the students. In spite of their sincere efforts, the government has been neglecting to provide minimum facilities to the teachers by not releasing service rules, he said.
He said that the committee recommendations were neglected for the past six months by the government to solve the problems of the MST. He blamed the government for not releasing PRC arrears even after allocating in the budget.
Former MLC Lakshman Rao demanded the government to solve the problems of MST and implement their genuine demands by providing health cards, implementing pension policy and allowing compassionate appointments.
He demanded the government to correct the difference in PRC and fitment for the teachers appointed in the second phase. Books and uniforms should be sent to the schools without further delay, Lakshman Rao demanded.
