AP Tourism Department inks MoU with MakeMyTrip

Vijayawada: The Tourism Department of AP signed an MoU with MakeMyTrip.com to increase the occupancy rate in the guest houses of the department.

The board meeting of Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department held at Secretariat at Velagapudi on Friday and presided over by its chairman Jayarami Reddy took the decision in this regard. Tourism Department secretary Mukesh Kumar Meena and Director Himanshu Shukla were also present. 

The meeting also decided to initiate a new policy of appointing an agency for streamlining the human resources in the Tourism department. The meeting accepted the proposal to increase salaries of cooks from Rs 17,500 to Rs 21,500 and from Rs 15,000 to Rs 18,000 in the two categories. 

Apart from this, the cooks in the tourism hotels across the State would be given proper techniques and training with expert chefs. The meeting also discussed on the proposal to handover  the guesthouse of the department to the Endowment department on lease basis at Antarvedi.

Tourism Board members V Ramu, P Simhachalam Naidu, C Babu Ramesh, M Brahmaiah, Veera Shankar Reddy and other officials were also present.
