YSRCP demands 50 lakh Ex Gratia

Kakinada:  The YSRCP demanded that the government pay ex gratia of Rs 50 lakh to the kin of the seven missing in boat capsize incident in River Godavari on Saturday.

Speaking to presspersons at a meet organised at D Convention Hall here on Sunday, Kakinada parliamentary constituency in-charge K Kannababu said that it was the sheer negligence of the TDP government that led to the tragedy.

The YSRCP leader also criticised the official machinery in the district for not initiating measures for the welfare of the children who were called for Vanam- Manam Programme in schools on Saturday at Mondilanaka and Pasuvullanka villages in (Island) Polavaram mandal. 

None had taken any interest for the safe return of the girl schoolchildren, Kannababu said. Referring to the incident of stampede at Godavari Pushkaralu accident three years ago at Rajamahendravaram, he said that nothing was done for the stampede victims and their kin so far, Kannababu alleged.

The party senior leader and former MLA, D Chandasekhara Reddy, party Kakinada city unit president RVSR Kumar and other leaders were present.
