Fake seed sellers warned of PD Act

Guntur: Minister for Civil Supplies Prathipati Pulla Rao said that the government will slap P D Act against the traders who sell spurious seeds and cheat the innocent farmers. 

Addressing ZP General Body meeting in Guntur city on Tuesday, the Minister said that the names of the companies which sell spurious seeds will be kept in the blacklist and cases will be registered against them.

He explained the steps taken by the government to supply seeds and fertilisers to the farmers for this kharif in the district and added that the aim of the government is to supply seeds and fertilisers to farmers and to sanction crop loans. He said that the government will take steps to construct compound walls to the government schools in a phased manner in the district. 

Minister for Social Welfare Nakka Anand Babu directed the officials that they should take steps so that the fruits of welfare schemes should reach to the people.  

District Collector Kona Sasidhar said that they have set up special teams to book cases against traders who sell spurious seeds and fertilisers and added that department had sufficient stocks of fertilisers and seeds for  supplying  to the farmers. He said that he will take steps to impart training to the teachers on computers. 

ZP chairman MD Janimun presided over the meeting. MLAs Angani Satya Prasad, GV Anjaneyulu, MLCs A.S.Rama Krishna, Boddu Nageswara Rao were among those participated.
