Red grams at 40 a kg in AP

Amaravati: The AP government will ensure availability of red grams at Rs 40 per kg in the state through the public distribution system to the below poverty line families possessing white ration cards from August 1.
According to Venkataramaiah, OSD to Minister for Civil Supplies, the price of red grams in the open market is about Rs 80 per kg. The department took the initiative after Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed them to ensure that the satisfaction levels among the BPL families should be more than 50 per cent as far as the PDS is concerned.
