More pregnant women availing Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana in Kakinada
Kakinada: Pregnant women enrolled under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana here are on the rise. There are seven urban health centers which take health care of urban population, particularly from BPL families.
The Union government is sponsoring these centers for medical care.
For pregnant woman, these centers provide Rs 6,000 each from third month of pregnancy till 3rd month of the baby after delivery in a phased manner.
According to BJP, Kakinada city unit president Pedireddi Ravikiran, who inspected one of these centres at Godari Gunta in Kakinada suburbs on Wednesday, found the enrollment of woman on the rise since April.
During April, the enrollment was 150. In May, the number of registrations gone up to 250 and in the month of June it crossed 300.
Besides financial incentive of Rs 6,000 during pregnancy and after delivery, the medical care will continue at these centers, the BJP leader added.
