Two crushed to death as tractor overturns

Kurnool: Two persons died on the spot and three others sustained grievous injuries when a tractor overturned on them at a quarry at Palukudoddi village in C Belagal mandal on Friday. The deceased were identified as Sekhar, 52 of Kodumuru and Mastan Vali,28 of Chanugondla village. 

According to sources, Lakshmi Narayana, Soma Sekhar and three others were reportedly running a quarry at Palukudoddi village. They engage labourers for blasting stones and crushing units. Deceased Sekhar, Mastan Vali and three more labourers were engaged for blasting stones with the help of a tractor.

As the tractor driver Sekhar wrongly positioned the vehicle, the tractor overturned and driver Sekhar and helper Mastan Vali were crushed under 
the tractor. Three more labourers, who were present nearby the tractor, suffered grievous injuries. All the three injured were rushed to Kurnool General Hospital.

On receipt of information, Kurnool Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) N Ugander Babu and Kodumuru Circle Inspector A Srinivas rushed to the spot and enquired about the mishap. The bodies have been shifted to Kurnool General Hospital for autopsy.
