Water level decreases in Godavari

Rajamahendravaram: The flood water level in river Godavari is decreasing from Friday and over 3.80 lakh cusecs of water is released into sea from Sir Arthur Cotton Barrage at Dowleswaram.

Currently, the water level at the barrage is stood at 8 feet and 7,000 cusecs of water was released into Eastern, Central and Western deltas. All the 176 barrage gates of Ryali, Vijjeswaram, Maddur and Dowleswaram were lifted to a height of one metre to release the flood water.
