Jagan seeking mandate ridiculous: Devineni
Vijayawada: Heavily coming down on Opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy, Minister for Water Resources Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao said here on Saturday that after running away from Parliament in the name of resignations by MPs, now the Jagan was seeking people’s mandate once again. Speaking to media here on Saturday, he said that the YSRCP, which could not demand the Prime Minister the Special Category Status with its five MPs, was now ridiculously seeking the election of 25 MPs.
He said the state was facing deficit budget at the time of bifurcation and since then has been waiting for helping hand from the Centre. “When the Centre was not inclined to give funds to the state, the TDP was forced to walk out of the alliance,” he said. He lauded MP Galla Jayadev for his wonderful speech in Parliament.
Referring to the statement of Opposition leader in his newspaper that he was letting water from Godavari to flow into the sea, the minister said that farmers were happy for starting cultivation in June. He lambasted the Opposition leader for making his followers to file suits in the high court regarding drawing of Godavari water through Pattiseema. Following heavy rainfall this year, the water was flowing into Nagarjuna Sagar and Srisailam which would be used for irrigation and drinking water needs of Rayalaseema region.
