YSRCP bandh call a ‘political gimmick’: KE

Update: 2018-07-22 05:30 IST

Chittoor: Deputy Chief Minister K E Krishnamurthy on Saturday described YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s  bandh call on July 24 as ‘political gimmick’ and to defend his failures in protecting the interests of the state.

Addressing media here on Saturday, Krishnamurthy said there was no question of joining hands with YSRCP, BJP and Congress and added the BJP would face a humiliating defeat in the next elections forfeiting the deposits and meet the same fate like the Congress in 2014 elections. In the history of Parliament, a regional party headed by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has successfully managed to get support for no-confidence motion against BJP government at the Centre, he added.

Condemning Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s false statements in Parliament during no-confidence motion debate on Friday, he levelled serious allegations against Modi in respect of SCS to the state and the provisions made in AP Reorganisation Act. “The Prime Minister has taken U-turn in respect of fulfilling promises to the state despite Naidu visiting New Delhi 29 times and made futile efforts to get SCS. Prime Minister is obviously neglecting the welfare of states” he regretted. As all the doors have been closed, as a last resort, the TDP has successfully used the no-confidence motion weapon against Modi government, he clarified.

He reiterated that TDP Government would intensify the pressure on the Centre for granting SCS and for fulfilling promises in the bifurcation act. He made it clear the graph of Modi was falling down steeply after the debacle in the recent byelections. The progress of the state was in doll-drums due to non-receipt of earmarked funds from the Centre, he said and reiterated the TDP would intensify its protests for SCS.

ZP Chairperson Girvani Chandra Prakash,  Chittoor MLA D A Satya Prabha, Chittoor MLC B N Rajasimhulu, District TDP chief P Nani and party official spokesman D Suresh were present. Earlier the minister inaugurated Registration Bhavan. Collector P S Pradyumna and Joint Collector P S Girisha participated.
