Andhra University to sign MoUs with Army on July 26

Visakhapatnam: Andhra University will sign five MoUs with Indian Army at Sena Bhavan for establishing a centre for defence studies at Andhra University followed by a meeting with Army Chief General Bipin Rawat.  

Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G Nageswara Rao, Academic   Adviser of defence joint  education programme Ujjwal Kumar  and Kumar Raja, member of All Academic Senate, will sign the MoU on behalf of Andhra University on July 26   in Delhi. The team of Andhra University officials will leave for Delhi on Monday from the city.

The department of defence joint education programme since the inception of defence joint education department at the university within two years signed seven MoUs with Indian Air force, two with Indian Navy and 13 with Director General of DGR under defense ministry, said Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G Nagesawara Rao. 

Speaking to The Hans India, academic adviser of defence joint education programme Ujjwal Kumar Ghatak said that Andhra University proposed to establish a centre for defence education for all the tri command forces at Andhra University. At present over 1,500 armed forces serving personnel are undergoing training at Andhra University.
