KIMS Hospital Ongole excels in neonatal care

Ongole: The KIMS Hospital executive director, T Giri Naidu, general manager S Narasimha Murthy announced that using the advanced technology available with them in the neonatal care unit, their doctors saved a premature baby successfully while the mother and father of the child express gratitude to the team of doctors before media.

The executive director, Giri Naidu said that a seventh month pregnant K Nagalakshmi from the Tripurapuram village in Nuzendla mandal of Guntur district visited the hospital on May 23 with hypertension. The gynecologist, G Kalpana prescribed medicines for 10 days of use, but conducted caesarian surgery as the high BP continued further. 

The baby boy weighed just 800 grams and posed a challenge to the doctors’ team. Dr Ch Praneeth continued treatment to the baby in the neonatal ICU for 50 days and brought the baby to 1.5 kg in weight by July 21 and discharged.

Giri Naidu said that the complete treatment was done under the NTR Vaidyaseva, without any burden on the poor family.

He said that their hospital has 20 beds in pediatric and NICU divisions with advanced ventilators, HFO monitors, CPAPs for 24-hour treatment for children. He said that the NTR Vaidyaseva, EHS, WJHS, CMRF, APSRTC, BSNL, Arogyabhadrata and other medical schemes are available in their hospital for ready use by the patients in emergency.
