YSRCP stages protest over poor sanitation
Vijayawada: YSRCP city working president and former MLA Malladi Vishnu, along with the party leaders, staged a protest at ST Colony in 52nd division here on Sunday to highlight the poor sanitation and delay in handing over houses to beneficiaries even after four years of their completion.
Vishnu alleged that the government was not allotting 515 houses which were ready for occupation. He said that the residents complained that the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation was not maintaining hygienic conditions in the division. Garbage was being cleared once in every 15 days.
The garbage from the houses was also not collected regularly. The garbage piled up on the side canals was becoming an obstacle to free flow of the drain water.
Due to rain, the drain water was overflowing onto the roads creating problems to the residents. Division coordinator K Aadinarayana Rao, YSRCP leaders Keshava Reddy, Pathan Khan, Balu, Guru Naidu, Prem, P Krishnaveni and others were present.
