Centre diluting GST Council: Yanamala

Amaravati: The Central government was not considering the valuable suggestions given by other than BJP ruled states in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council, alleged minister for finance Yanamala Ramakrishnudu.

In a release on Monday, the finance minister said that there was no use with the GST Council since the Centre was not giving any priority to its recommendations. He accused the Union government of trying to impose its schemes and programmes on the states at the cost of federal structure. On YSRCP’s bandh call, he questioned what was the purpose of the bandh now.

“When they are supposed to fight against the Central government, they are fighting against the state government and TDP. In fact, the Special Category Status must be given by the Central government and YSRCP should stage protests in New Delhi,” he added. Ramakrishnudu said this bandh call once again proved the collusive politics of YSRCP and BJP.
