Deputy Speaker releases ‘Sootha Rangasthali’

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Assembly Deputy Speaker Mandali Buddha Prasad released a book ‘Sootha Rangasthali’ written by Dr D Vizai Bhaskar, CEO of the AP Creativity and Culture Commission here on the premises of Cultural Centre on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Buddha Prasad said that Vizai Bhaskar’s mission was to highlight the oppression and denial of human, social, economic and political rights to the voiceless minority communities of Indian society.

Professor Modali Nagabhushana Sarma, presiding over the function, said Dr Vizai Bhaskar set an agenda for young playwrights keeping in view the much-marginalised communities and highlight their life style.

Dr Papineni Siva Sankar, a recipient of Kendra Sahitya Academy, inaugurating the meeting, said that the writer imbibed a spirit of democratic struggle against social and political oppression by reasoning caste, demography and political system.

Vizai Bhaskar said that he took character of Sootha as his spokesman to delineate the woes of downtrodden as envisaged for the sake of fourth world literature. He also said that if we want to correct today, we have to do it by borrowing from yesterday.

Dr Kandimalla Sambasiva Rao, Vice-President of AP Nataka Academy, Dr Gumma Sambasiva Rao, Valluri Siva Prasad, Ambati Murali Krishna, Dr T Hari Babu and Patibandla Anada Rao, Dr E Sivanagi Reddy and others were present.
