Thundershowers likely in AP State
Hyderabad: The Southwest Monsoon turned weak in Andhra Pradesh during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Monday. As a result, rain occurred at isolated places in coastal districts, while dry weather prevailed in Rayalaseema, the met department bulletin said.
The bulletin attributed the scanty rainfall to the depression over northwest Jharkhand and neighbourhood moving slightly west-northwestwards and weakening into a well marked low pressure area. It lies over northwest Jharkhand and neighbourhood.
The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 km and is tilting southwards with height. According to the forecast, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at isolated pIaces in the State from July 24 to 27.
No large change during the period July 28-30 is the weather outlook. Meanwhile, the day’s highest temperature of 38 degrees Celsius was recorded in Tirupati.
The other temperatures recorded in the State were: Kavali, Nellore 37 each, Jangamaheswarapuram 36, Bapatla, Ongole, Kadapa, Nandyal 35 each, Machilipatnam 34, Kakinada, Tuni , Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam Airport, Anantapur, Arogyavaram, Kurnool 33 each, Kalingapatnam, Nandigama, Narsapur and Visakhapatnam 32 each.
