Woman techie becomes the highest tax payer in Telugu states
The Income Tax department of Andhra and Telangana released highlights about last year’s income tax on Monday. At least 7.41 lakh income tax returns were filed in both Telugu states by July 31 last year.
A female employee from an IT company in Hyderabad has become the highest individual salaried taxpayer in the Telugu states. With a salary of Rs 30 crore per annum, she paid Rs 9 crore as income tax for the 2017-18 fiscal.
While the employee is the top salaried taxpayer in the Hyderabad region, she might not find herself among the top salaried taxpayers at the national level with many in other parts of the country.
In Vijayawada region, Tirupati-based Amara Raja Batteries, owned by TDP MP Galla Jayadev and his father Galla Ramachandra Naidu, is the top income tax payer. In Andhra Pradesh, Public sector unit National Mineral Development Corporation (NDMC) is the top taxpayer, while in Telangana, it is Andhra Bank.
