Congress only hope to address AP issues: Oommen Chandy

Kurnool: Former chief minister of Kerala and in-charge of Andhra Pradesh Congress affairs, Oommen Chandy came down heavily on BJP and alleged the party has betrayed the people of AP in according Special Category Status and fulfilling other bifurcation promises. Modi on several occasions said that AP would be accorded with SCS and the newly formed state would be developed on par with other states. 

But, neither SCS has been accorded nor fulfilled the bifurcation promises. Now there is no way  Modi government giving SCS. Congress party is the only ray of hope to do justice to AP on all fronts, he said. After Congress party come to rule in 2019 then the first signature of Rahul Gandhi in the capacity of Prime Minister would be on Special Category Status, reiterated, Oommen Chandy.

Chandy who visited Kurnool on Tuesday to address party leaders and cadres meeting. He was given a grand welcome by the party activists. A huge rally was organised from State Guest House and passed through Kisan Ghar to Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at King Market.

Chandy paid tributes to the former chief minister Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy. Later he spoke to media persons and said that with a view to strengthen party, meetings are being organised at cadre level at all constituencies in the state.

The former chief minister of Kerala said Congress party will have no alliance at the ensuing general elections and it will contest on its own. People are vexed with the governance of Telugu Desam Party and are waiting to teach a befitting lesson. Even the YSR Congress Party will also learn a good lesson at the ensuing elections.

The party is now greatly concerned about the SCS, what was it doing for the past four years, he asked?  He said voting to TDP and YSR Congress is nothing but to vote to BJP. 

Later, PCC president N Raghuveera Reddy, former Union Minister Kotla Jaya Surayaprakash Reddy, former Minister Shailajanath, former MP Chinta Mohan, former MLAs Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy, Kotla Sujathamma, and Madhangopal and others also spoke on the occasion.
