Ryots say they gave lands voluntarily for capital
Amaravati: The capital region farmers said that they gave their agriculture lands voluntarily to the State government for the construction of capital Amaravati under the Land Pooling Scheme.
They further explained that they want development of their region and hence gave their lands to the State government. The farmers met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at his residence at Undavalli on Tuesday.
On this occasion, the farmers also donated Rs 3,30,000 for providing food to the poor through Anna Canteens in the State. Chandrababu Naidu said that some leaders were trying to provoke the farmers to disturb the development of the capital city.
In fact, he was attacking indirectly Jana Sena President Pawan Kalyan, who visited the capital city villages, interacted with the local farmers and questioned the government on forcible land acquisition a couple of days ago. The Chief Minister said that the State government already initiated Rs 50,000 crore works in the capital city. He asked leaders of different political parties to support the development of Amaravati.
Amaravati farmers including A Yugandhar from Undavalli, M Krishna Rao, Aluri Taraka Brahmam, Subrahmanyam, K Tirmoti, G Nageswara Rao, Vemuri Sivanagamalleswara Rao and others from Mandadam donated the money to Chandrababu Naidu and said that they gave the lands to the State government for development. The farmers said that unless Chandrababu Naidu was again elected as the Chief Minister, Amaravati will not be developed.
