TDP leaders promoting Mujra, alleeges CPM
Vijayawada: The people’s representatives of Telugu Desam Party are encouraging the culture of Mujra in the city, which is famous for its cultural standards, alleged CPM executive committee member D Rama Devi.
She flagged off the Praja Rakshana Yatra being undertaken by CPM leader Ch Babu Rao at Mutyalampadu government press here on Wednesday. Rama Devi said that it was not proper on the part of the Chief Minister for not reacting to the obscene Mujra party dances organised by his partymen near his residence.
Expressing concern over the safety of women in the state, she said that attacks on women have been increased substantially. She alleged that the Chief Minister is yet to waive off the loans of Dwcra women even after four years. Addressing a gathering, CPM executive committee member Ch Babu Rao alleged that followers of Central MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao were arrested on the charges of organising Mujra dance party.
CPM West Krishna secretary DV Krishna said that the Centre and the State governments have been burdening people with more and more taxes. In this connection, the activists burnt the GO copies enhancing the water and drainage taxes to mark their protest.
Bar Council member Sunkara Rajendra Prasad, city CPM leaders D Vishnuvardhan, B Ramana Rao, K Durga Rao, P Madhav, T Pravin, G Nagaraju, advocate Rajaratnam, Konda Koteswara Rao, G Mothi, V Seshagiri, T Raghava Rao and others were present. People welcomed the CPM leaders. Babu Rao appealed the people to participate in the dharna in front of the municipal corporation office on August 8.
