Workshop on angioplasty at Andhra Hospital held

Vijayawada: Dr P V Ramana Murthy, Managing Director of Andhra Hospital invited Prof Imad Sheiban, an Israeli doctor working in Italy, to participate in a workshop on angioplasty for coastal Andhra Pradesh cardiologists on Tuesday.

Prof Imad Sheiban has good experience and skills on angioplasty to clear the clots in blood vessels instead of Coronary Artery By-Pass Graft (CABG).

Prof Imad Sheiban said that apart from CABG, if the patient was having severe blockages due to calcium they can be cleared by Rotablater technology and keeping the stent in the same place for free flow of the blood.

Through Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR) diagnosis, he explained whether the cardiac disease patient requires a stent or not.
