3 substations inaugurated by Minister for Power K Kala Venkat Rao

Rajamahendravaram: Minister for Power K Kala Venkat Rao has said that the government is supplying quality power round-the-clock to all sections in the state and strengthening the department in all aspects.

He laid foundation stone for a 33/11KV substation at Lolamuru and inaugurated 33/11KV substations in Jampeta, municipal corporation premises and in Bommuru on Wednesday.

Later, he said the government had spent an amount of Rs 2,800 crore during the last two years to install new substations, feeder lines etc for quality service. 

There are 17 lakh agricultural connections in the state and supplying power to farmers in day time only for seven hours.

As per need, the government was ready to sanction any number of substations in the state to supply uninterrupted free supply to all sections. The government was offering one rupee discount to the industrialists who were using power in day time.

When TDP came to power, there was a deficit of 22 million units in the state. Within three months, the state had surpassed the deficit. Because of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the production increased to 28,000 million units of power from 7,000 million units per day earlier.

Rural MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Choudary said as many as 10 transformers were installed in urban and rural areas during the last four years with an estimated cost of Rs 80 crore. Naidu was very much particular to supply quality power to the people.

Mayor P Rajani Sesha Sai, MLC Adireddy Appa Rao, Godavari Urban Development Authority chairman Ganni Krishna, Transco superintending engineer Satyanarayana Reddy and others were present.
