Chandrababu Naidu accuses Modi of misleading people
Kovvuru (West Godavari): Prime Minister Narendra Modi was making misleading statement to the Lok Sabha on Special Category Status (SCS), said Chief Minister and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday.
He reacted sharply to the narrative by BJP leaders in Parliament on SCS to the state, while addressing a public meeting as part of Nagara Darsini programme here on Thursday.
“Narendra Modi said that the 14 Finance Commission suggested not to give the Special Category Status to AP. It was not true. The Finance Commission did not say it. We are demanding SCS for the state. All political parties in the country are also questioning the BJP on its misleading statements,” he said and declared that the fight would continue against the NDA government till the state achieved all its rights.
The Chief Minister urged the people to extend their support to the state government in the fight against the NDA government and added that they would fight in the spirit of TDP founder NT Rama Rao. Stating that he does not fear anyone, h said, “We will not give it up. This fight will continue till we achieve SCS and other promises.”
Lamenting that YSRCP and Jana Sena questioning the TDP on SCS instead of demanding the Central government, the Chief Minister said that the two parties had no moral right to question him since TDP was fighting against the BJP.
He said YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy was supporting the BJP to come out of the cases pending against him while TDP moved No-Confidence Motion and sacrificed the Union ministries.
Stating that the TDP government had waived Rs 24,000 loans of farmers, Naidu said the Centre was arguing that it would not give money for pensions and loans. But the state government is demanding money for the reimbursement of revenue deficit, he added.
Asserting that he would complete the Polavaram at any cost, Naidu said that each and every single acre in both East and West Godavari districts would get sufficient water once the project is completed. He expressed anguish over Centre not giving funds for construction of the project as well as for Rehabilitation and Resettlement package.
The Chief Minister also explained to the people the welfare and developmental activities undertaken by the TDP government in the last four years. He said that he aimed to develop the state while continuing fight against the Central government.
