Devotee rush peaks in Tirumala on Thursday

Tirupati: With the restrictions on the Darsanam of the Lord set to come into effect due to Maha Samprokshanam ritual in Tirumala, the pilgrim rush peaked on Thursday.

 On Thursday alone, the hundi of the Lord received offering sworth Rs 6.28 crore. The small change in the form of coins alone accounted for Rs 1.64 crore. This is the highest collection in a day till date in Tirumala. The highest till date was Rs 5.73 crore on April 1, 2012.
