Puttaparthi attracts Kia Koreans

Puttaparthi (Anantapur): South Korean automobile Major Kia Motors works are going in full swing while hundreds of Korean automobile staff and workers are descending into the historical town of Penukonda, the once second capital of the Sri Krishnadevaraya's empire. 

The town has no hotels or important places for the visit of foreigners. A private resort has been operating at a distance of 10 km from the town. The resort is under the occupation of the automobile people.

Besides, scores of visitors from Korea are compelled to operate from Bengaluru city staying in posh star hotels. In this connection, Puttaparthi, the pilgrim centre for Satya Sai devotees, now draws the attention of Korean guests.

Many flats in multiple apartments which are vacant have caught the attention of the Korean guests, who are now trying to hire the flats and operate from there as it is just 40-minute drive from Puttaparthi to Penukonda. 

The Puttaparthi town has rich experience in providing hospitality to foreign nationals. There are many cooks, who had learnt the art of cooking for foreign nationals. Many are now zeroing in on the pilgrim town.

One Kia Shinth from Seoul, who had come to find a temporary accommodation here, said to The Hans India that the town is quite interesting and has conducive climate for living. Kia Motors is in the process of building a Korean Colony right in the premises of the automobile firm.

The colony will be ready by the time the company starts its trial production in January 2019. Vijay, a hospitality provider to visiting foreigners, said that Kia Motors project has become a boon to Anantapur  district. Rich business people and realtors are visiting Kia project area to develop their ventures.

Presently builders from Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai are developing residential townships. By 2020, Penukonda sub-division lands will become very costly and world class building infrastructure and modern colonies will be developed, it is estimated.

Presently, Kia factory is being constructed and foreign delegates from Korean are frequently visiting this area and Puttaparthi is becoming shelter town for them.  All types of food and accommodation is available in the town.
