VIIT NSS unit hold anti-tobacco awareness prog
Visakhapatnam: As a part of Swachh Bharat Summer Internship programme, NSS unit of Vignan’s Institute of Information Technology (VIIT) (autonomous), organised an awareness programme on ‘Anti-tobacco’ at Vedurla Narava grama panchayat in Visakhapatnam on Friday. NSS volunteers played videos on repercussions of tobacco usage and explained the remedies to abstain from such habits.
They suggested the villagers to consume ginger and more water to reduce the effect of tobacco. Dr V Madhusudhana Rao, Rector, and Siva Parvathi, HM, MPP School, addressed NSS volunteers. They asked the villagers to keep away from tobacco and alcohol to maintain good health.
Guests and NSS volunteers planted saplings on the premises of MPP School. Dr K Madhusudhana Rao, dean of admissions and student affairs, and M Mutyala Naidu, leader of the village, were present.
