No rest until AP receives SCS: Naidu
Ongole: Intensifying the attack against the BJP and throwing fresh challenges at the Central government, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday announced that he would lay foundation stone for the Ramayapatnam port by this year end to fulfill the dream of Prakasam district. He also promised to link five rivers in the state.
Speaking at the Dharma poratam meeting, Naidu reiterated that he will not rest until the Union government accords special category. He also took potshots at the remarks made by the Prime Minister during his reply to the no-confidence motion in Lok Sabha recently. Referring to the suicide by Sudhakar, a native of Madanapalle in Chittoor district, who claimed that he was upset over the Centre’s attitude for its negligence towards the state and failure to give special category status, the Chief Minister appealed to all not to lose hope and not to indulge in such acts.
Apart from paying homage to Sudhakar, Naidu announced ex-gratia of Rs 5 laksh to his family and another Rs 5 lakh on behalf of TDP. He said no one should lose their lives. The government and the party will fight for achieving special category and implementation of all provisions of AP State Re-organisation Act 2014. He said he would not be cowed down even by the threats of Prime Minister. He asked the intellectuals and neutral voters to consider the performance of his government now and give another chance for completion of projects and construction of Amaravati.
Naidu said with the support of people he will teach a lesson to BJP. He also thanked Umesh Reddy from Warangal, who climbed a cell phone signal tower in New Delhi demanding special category status for AP. He said that fighting together can overcome all obstacles and receive special category status definitely. After playing the video clips of Narendra Modi speaking at Tirupati, Nellore, Amaravati and in Parliament and former prime minister Manmohan Singh, Chandrababu Naidu said that he didn’t took U turn from the welfare of the state and came outside of the NDA when the union government is taking decisions badly affecting the development of the state.
He said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is using the Parliament to threaten them who speak against him, but TDP is the only party that dared to question him and to demand justice to the state. He advised the BJP leaders to never interfere with the self respect of the Telugus and asked the Telugus at other states to support the cause of AP and vote against the betrayers. He assured that the first tunnel of Veligonda project would be ready by Sankranthi. He said that he ordered the officials and contractors to must cooperate and let the works start in 10 days. The second tunnel will be completed in next one year, he added.
He announced that he will link all five rivers viz., Godavari, Krishna, Vamsadhara, Penna and Nagavali to provide water to all areas of the state. He said that the Centre was not cooperating with regard to Visakhapatnam railway zone, steel plant at Kadapa. He said that the state was ready to take up construction of steel plant, but will not pay the taxes for 10 years if Centre agrees. Naidu said that he is planning to establish food processing unit and speaking with a paper mill management to help the subabul and jama-oil farmers in the district.
He said that the horticulture college, veterinary college will be established at Kandukur, a general university in Ongole, bring industries to industrial corridor and NIMZ at Kanigiri. He asked the leaders and public to leave small issues with the leaders but try to think for the future of the state and give him 25MPs in the state.
