Residential School principal told to go on leave over food adulteration

Visakhapatnam: Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao directed the Bheemili Girls Residential School Principal to go on leave immediately. The minister directed the officials to appoint another senior principal to the school.

A group of students in the residential school suffered from vomiting and motions after having lunch on Friday. Later, it was found that the cook of the school used the adulterated food material while preparing the lunch. 

The students were shifted to a hospital and after providing first aid, they were discharged from the hospital. The staff nurse at the hospital informed that five students came to the hospital with stomach pain and given treatment.

The minister visited the school and enquired about the incident. Expressing his anger on the staff and principal, the minister appointed Additional Joint Collector Dr A Siri to probe into the incident and submit a report in a week.

Interacting with the minister, the students informed that they suffered from stomach-ache and motions after having the lunch. The students informed the minister that the RO plant in the school is not functioning.
