Chandrababu Naidu wants officials to conduct meets on Amaravati in Delhi

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed the officials to convene national-level workshops and meetings on Amaravati in the national capital New Delhi. He said that the meetings and workshops would provide global exposure and be useful to attract investors.

During a teleconference with the higher officials here on Sunday, Naidu asked the officials to explain about the vision of the State government to make the nine proposed cities in Amaravati as the best happy cities in the world and the best places for innovation.

The Chief Minister, who had earlier participated in a workshop on Amaravati Media City in New Delhi, wanted the officials to conduct similar workshops with a special focus to explain the role of national and global players on each of the nine thematic cities to attract investors and world-class human resources.

The nine cities - Media City, Sports City, Government City, Justice City, Finance City, Knowledge City, Tourism City, Electronics City and Health City- have been planned to be hub of activities serving a unique function, employment generation and economic development within the capital city.
“We want Amaravati to be an innovation valley and the number one city to live and do business, we want to promote new technologies in the nine cities to make them the best in the world,” the Chief Minister said.

Naidu exuded confidence that Amaravati will be one of the five best cities in the world.  “I am quite confident that Amaravati will be one of the best five cities in the world and fuel the growth of India. It will be a power house of economic development. No country in the world will have such a unique feature of having nine cities within the capital city to provide whatever the best in the world for its people.

These cities will also bring out the best in the people as it will give a perfect work-life balance and make them always happy,” he added. The Chief Minister reiterated that Amaravati is the pride of Telugu people and the government is fully committed to realise the dream (Amaravati) of people. 

“The State government has achieved a lot in terms of achieving the highest growth rate in the country, increasing per capita income, creating employment, implementing welfare and development schemes for the poor. It has fulfilled all its promises to the people during the last four years.

Simultaneously, we have been fully focusing on expediting construction of the capital city,” Naidu said. Global corporates have been impressed with the ongoing development in Amaravati. If we can bring certain shape to the capital city by December, several global investors will definitely come to invest here. It will spur the overall development of the State, he said.

Minister for Municipal Administration Dr P Narayana, Special Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Satish Chandra, Principal Secretaries Saiprasad, Ajay Jain, Amaravati Development Corporation chairperson Lakshmi Parthasaradhi, Capital Regional Development Authority (CRDA) Ch Sreedhar, Additional Commissioner Rama Manohara Rao and several officials were present.
