Government keen to combat illicit liquor: Karem Sivaji

Rajamahendravaram: SC/ST Commission chairman Karem Sivaji has said that the state government is very particular to combat illicit liquor problem in the state. 

Prohibition and Excise department officials were directed to put an end to the menace.

Sivaji gave lemon juice to BC Students Association national president Marukurthi Durga Vara Prasad here on Saturday night, who was on hunger strike from two days, demanding that the government remove liquor shops located in 45th to 50th divisions.

Later, the chairman talked to the officials of Prohibition and Excise department who asked one week time to remove the liquor shops. 

With the assurance, Durga Vara Prasad called off his two-day hunger strike.
