Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) State coordination committee meeting will be held at Andhra Ratna Bhavan on Wednesday with PCC president N Raghuveera Reddy in the chair.

Congress party state affairs in-charge OommenChandy will attend the meeting. Former chief minister N Kirankumar Reddy is likely to participate in the meeting first time after his re-entry into the party.

The meeting would discuss and finalise a road map for the next elections and also to strengthen the party. Already, the APCC conducted district-wise meetings in all the 13 districts to revive the Congress party in the state. Several Congress leaders have already joined the party by the efforts of leadership.

In fact, the Congress lost its base at grass root level following the developments after state bifurcation. But now the Congress leadership made plans to revive its base by inviting several sympathisers and former leaders into the party.

Former chief minister N Kirankumar Reddy has come back as part of the efforts by national leadership of the party. Recently, former legislator Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy also joined the Congress.

Likewise, several leaders are being influenced by party national leadership. Kirankumar Reddyannounced that nearly 40 senior leaders would come back to Congress.

Besides, the party national leadership assured the leaders that the special status is its one of the issues in the main political agenda of All India Congress Committee (AICC). The party has plans to highlight the issue in the forthcoming elections in the State.

One section of Congress leaders believes that the Congress and Telugu Desam may enter into an election alliance in Telangana on the assurance of special status.

It would help both the parties in the state, said former Congress MPP N Venkateswara Rao. He said that former chief minister Kirankumar Reddy’s re-entry would give moralboost to party cadre.

APCC general secretary SN Raja said that the party in-charge OommenChandy would announce future action plan in the coordination meeting. He said that already constituency-wise meetings were conducted and identified the leaders to strengthen the party.
