Superintendent of Police releases crime bulletin
Ongole: Prakasam District Superintendent of Police Bhusarapu Satya Yesubabu released crime bulletin at the district police office here on Tuesday. He said that in June, nine murders, nine murder to attempts and four deaths due to mistakes of others occurred in the district. He said that three riots, 14 rapes, seven abductions, five grievous injuries and 110 minor injuries were reported in the district this month.
He added that 11 cases of cheating, nine cases of breaches of trust, 78 cases of thefts were also registered in June. In the same month, the Superintendent of Police said that 34 fatal road accidents, 73 non-fatal road accidents occurred in the district.
He further stated that police registered 192 cases under various other IPC sections, 53 special and local law cases, 13 SC/ST atrocity cases, 35 missing cases, 14 belt shop cases, 19 illegal sale of gutka cases, 14,826 motor vehicle act violation cases, 125 gambling cases, 24 bind over cases and 1254 drunken cases during this month.
Analysing the cases, the Superintendent of Police said that illegal affairs and land related disputes are the reason for most murders, murder attempts while drunken driving is the reason for deaths of others. Most of the rapes and abduction cases are due to the infatuation and in the name of love, he added.
In the missing cases also, nearly half of the women and girls are said to be eloped with their said to be lovers, he said advised the parents to keep an eye on their children. If not, the children may land in the nets of human traffickers and end up in prostitution of begging gangs. In most of the thefts, the Superintendent of Police said that they occurred due to negligence of the public.
He said that public used cheap locks, left keys in the houses and indirectly helped the thieves. He advised the public to utilise the Locked House Monitoring Service when they are going away from town.
The Superintendent of Police asked the public to be vigilant, not to indulge in attacks in rage and cooperate with police by calling 100 if they observe any suspicious persons to contain crime and maintain law and order.
