1.32 crore CC road a big relief to road users
Akiveedu: The ongoing construction of 690-metre-long cement road is been constructed replacing the existing bad road between Dumpagadapa railway gate and stream has brought cheer to the people in the vicinity and road users.
A sum of Rs 1.32 crore is being spent on the road. Apart from the road, construction has also been started for the culverts of the existing drains.
The road is the key for transport of paddy by trucks. Thousands of lorry loads of paddy are dumped into railway wagons here.
As a result, travelling on the road is causing inconvenience to the people and passengers.
With big potholes, bike riders, light vehicles and pedestrians face a lot of difficulty. Now with eight-inch thick and six-metre wide roads, the new CC road would prove a relief for many sufferers.
The local MLA, VV Sivarama Raju took the initiative and managed to get the funds for the road.
While 30 per cent funds were released from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and the remaining was the contribution from National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
