2 from Krishna District selected for national fencing tourney

Vijayawada: Two players from Krishna District Fencing Association (KDFA) selected for the National Fencing tournaments, said KDFA general secretary V Venkateswara Rao here on Tuesday.

Venkateswara Rao said that two children were selected from KDFA to National Fencing tournament in (Under-12 years category). 

Ch Sofia Lawrence is studying Class VI at V S St John's Higher Secondary School, Gannavaram and  L Rohit Sai studying Class VI at Nalanda Vidyaniketan, Edupugallu. 

They were selected for their unmatched performance at the State level Fencing tournament held at Kadapa earlier, he said.

He said that both the players Sofia Lawrence and Rohit Sai will participate in the National Fencing under-12 category tournament representing Andhra Pradesh which will be held at Shirdi, Maharashtra from August 3 to 6.

The KDFA president, Y Srinivas Rao, state Olympic Association member D Nagaraju and others congratulated the students for their success.
