Amaravati: Incensed with the Centre’s stand that there was no need for division of institutions listed in the 10th Schedule of the AP State Reorganisation Act, 2014 between AP and Telangana, the AP government has decided to file a counter affidavit in the Supreme Court, debunking the Centre's claim.

The Centre made its stand clear on division of the assets in the Schedule X in an affidavit that it had filed with the apex court on a petition filed by Congress MLC P Sudhakar Reddy on the delay in the implementation of the assurances made in the AP State Reorganisation Act.

Minister for Finance Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, speaking to media- persons here on Tuesday, lashed out at the Centre for submitting an affidavit in the Supreme Court contrary to Parliament’s decision on the implementation of the division of assets listed under Schedule X. He said that the State would fight for the implementation of AP Reorganisation Act in toto.

He asked the Centre as to how it could take a decision against the AP Reorganisation Act which was passed by Parliament. He took strong objection to the attitude of the Centre that it was misleading Parliament and also courts. He wondered as to how the Centre was not taking care about the judgments of the Supreme Court.

The AP Finance Minister said that the Centre did not release funds and distribute assets and liabilities as per the AP Reorganisation Act. He reiterated that the Centre did not give any benefit under special package though it announced the plan to compensate benefits in the special status.
