‘Public misguided on Jagan’s Kapu quota remark’
Kandukur: The YSR Congress does not make false promises, claimed the party leader and the former minister Manugunta Mahidhara Reddy.
At a press meet at Kandukur on Friday, he said that the YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s comment on the Kapu Reservation was misunderstood and the public were misguided by a few forces.
Mahidhar Reddy explained that the Jaganmohan Reddy said that though the party was not against the Kapu reservations and the incidents of providing reservations to various other communities were not successful due to the Supreme Court guidelines to limit the reservations to 50 percent only.
He said that the Union government should modify Schedule 9 in the Parliament to provide reservations by the state.
Mahidhar Reddy said that Jaganmohan Reddy flayed the procedure followed by the state government in the name of providing Kapu reservations.
He said that his party supremo demanded that the government follow the correct process and make the Union government to amend the Constitution.
Mahidhar Reddy said that the TDP promised reservations to Kapus in just six months but not done in the last four years and alleged that the Kapus were not getting full benefits under the Kapu Corporation.
He demanded that the state government keep its word and provide loans and other financial benefits to the Kapu brethren.
