Regularisation of illegal additiona domestic load extended

Visakhapatnam: The due date for voluntary regularisation of unauthorised additional domestic loads at 50 per cent discount scheme is being extended up to September 30, said HY Dora, Chairman and Managing Director of APEPDCL, here on Tuesday.

Receiving request from various domestic consumers for extension of the scheme for further period, the APERC is agreed to extend the validity of the regularisation scheme for two more months and issued orders accordingly the CMD said.

In fact, as per orders of the APERC, those who are utilising the unauthorised additional domestic loads, could have to regularise their additional load by paying Rs 1200 per kw as development charges for regularisation.  But now, as per the voluntary disclosure scheme, they have to pay for unauthorised additional domestic loads at 50 per cent discount of approved development charges at Rs 600 per KW.

However,  the consumers should have to pay the security deposit charges as applicable as at present norms for the additional load, the CMD informed. As many as 81,949 domestic consumers of five districts of APEPDCL   jurisdiction voluntarily regularised their unauthorised additional domestic loads at 50 per cent discount scheme for 1,23,622 kw of their additional load.
