90 pc roads developed as CC roads in Akiveedu
Akiveedu: A remarkable development has been achieved in Akiveedu Panchayat during their tenure, claimed the Sarpanch G Ganapathi.
Presiding over the governing body meeting here on Wednesday, the sarpanch said that their achievement was unprecedented in the 100 years of history of the panchayat.
The biggest panchayat in the state, Akiveedu got 90 per cent of the cement roads, underground drainage and water supply through the taps, he said.
The Foundation stone was laid for the construction of CC canal to solve the drainage problem at a cost of Rs 7.2 crore. Similarly, more individual toilets were constructed in the panchayat with 30 per cent panchayat funds and 70 per cent funds under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS).
The panchayat has more individual toilets compared with others in the district. All the streetlights were replaced with the LED lights, he added.
