KLU pats ace archer Jyothi Surekha
Vijayawada: Koneru Raja Hareen, vice-president pf Koneru Lakshmaiah University (KLU) congratulated the ace archer and Arjuna award winner V Jyothi Surekha for qualifying for the World Cup final in compound mixed team and also placing the Indian archer team in first position.
He felicitated archer’s father V Surendra as a token of encouragement on the occasion.
Addressing the media, Hareen said that Jyothi Surekha is associated with KLU for the past six years and said that she completed B Tech and presently pursuing MBA 2nd year at KLU.
He said that it was a great moment for KLU that their student could make the country proud.
He said that she participated in various tournaments like World championship, World Cup, World University Games, University Championships, Asian Games and Asian Championships international matches and bagged medals.
He said that in all she won 27 medals participating in 33 International matches in her career.
Hareen said that Surekha has been a member of Compound Women’s team which created history in the Indian Archery by securing 1st rank in the world and 5th in mixed team, he added.
Surekha’s Father Surendra, Dean, Students Affairs Dr Habibullah Khan, Assistant Dean, sports Dr K Harikrishna and HoD sports Dr JH Kamalesh were present.
