Rajamahendravaram: YSRCP central governing board member Jakkampudi VIjaya Lakshmi has said that the party president, YS Jaganmohan Reddy did not take a U-turn relating to Kapu community reservations.

Some parties were trying to get political mileage by interpreting the statement of YS Jaganmohan Reddy wrongly.

Speaking to reporters at Press Club here on Wednesday, she said YSRCP would never rollback on its decision relating to Kapu reservations.

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu cheated Kapu community in the name of reservations. A resolution was passed in the state Assembly and sent to Central government. Now Naidu was blaming the Central government.

The state government had accepted the recommendations of Justice Manjunadh Commission without his signature, she alleged.

The recommendations had no sanctity. Is Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu who has 40 years of political experience not aware that the reservation issue was in the purview of Central government, she questioned.

Earlier, senior Cabinet Minister Yanamala Rama Krishnudu also said that the reservations should not cross 50 percent, she said.

She sought to know how many crores of funding the government made to Kapu Development Corporation. Naidu was implementing divide and rule policy to get benefit in the forthcoming elections, Vijaya Lakshmi alleged.

YSRCP city coordinator Routhu Suryaprakasa Rao and others were present.
