Tricolour designer Pingali remembered at Vijayawada

Vijayawada: To mark the birth anniversary celebration of freedom-fighter and national flag designer Pingali Venkayya, a programme was organised at Bapu Museum here on Thursday.

Archakas Training Centre director Dr Vedantam Rajagopal Chakravarthy was the chief guest of the programme.

Addressing the gathering, he said that Pingali Venkayya’s life was an inspiration to the present generation. 

He said that we should be proud and are lucky that Pingali hails from Krishna district (Bhatlapenumarru village of Divi Taluk).

Freedom-fighter Mallikarjuna Rao explained about his association with Pingali and the key role they had played during freedom struggle.

Andhra Loyola College history lecturer Movva Srinivas Reddy explained about the important achievements and features of Pingali’s life. 
  
B Rama Rao (producer of documentary on Pingali Venkayya), Vassan Eye Care Foundation representative Dr Ravi, Archeology Department deputy director N Malliarjuna Rao, assistant director R Phalgun Rao, S Satyavathi, B Deepak and others were present.
