4-member gang held for robbing auto commuter
Nellore: Central Crime Station (CCS) cops and Nellore Rural police held a 4-member gang, who have robbed an auto-rickshaw commuter.
Police seized an auto-rickshaw and a mobile phone from the accused. The accused were identified as Subhani, Pasupuleti Sandeep, P Sai and Tirupati Sai. CCS Circle Inspector Sk Bobbyjan Saida disclosed the case details at Nellore Rural Police Station on Saturday.
Bobbyjan said that Giri boarded an auto-rickshaw at Irukalala Parameswari temple in the city outskirts on July 30. Giri was heading towards Pottepalem by an auto-rickshaw.
When the vehicle had reached at Navabala temple, auto driver Subhani along with his three friends Sandeep, Sai and Tirupati Sai threatened Giri and robbed Rs 1,000, and a mobile phone worth Rs 16,000 from him,’ the CI said. The accused have attacked Giri and fled away.
The victim lodged a complaint with Nellore Rural police, he stated. On receiving a complaint, police conducted investigation and finally nabbed the accused on Saturday at Navabala temple in Nellore rural limits, said the Circle Inspector.
He also explained that the four accused were involved in dacoities and robberies in Nellore rural limits earlier.
