Beda Budagajangams demand SC status

Rajamahendravaram: The One-Man Commission, constituted on Beda Budgajangams, Chairman J C Sharma said that so far the commission has conducted the meetings in eight districts to know about status of Beda Budagajangam community in the state. 

The commission will submit its report to the government in March 2019 with is recommendations, he added.

Interacting with Beda Budagajangam community members in Korukonda here on Saturday, Sharma said the commission was constituted to study socio-economic status and life style of Beda Budagajangam community. 

Stating the commission collected opinions of community in four districts, he asked the community members to express their opinions in a free and fair manner before the commission.

Meanwhile, Beda Budagajangam community people asked the commission to treat them as SCs on par with Telangana government. 

They said Jangams, another community in the category, was getting fake certificates and enjoying the benefits in the name of Beda Budagajangams. 
They appealed to the commission to recommend to the government for their inclusion in SC community.
