CM’s intervention sought on elderly woman’s land issue
Amaravati: Former chief secretary I Y R Krishna Rao on Saturday urged Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to intervene into a land issue of one Gudavarthi Padmavathi in Guntur district.
In a letter addressed to Naidu, Rao said that a video has gone viral in social media regarding the land issue.
Since there is a possibility of fake videos circulating, Rao said he had crosschecked with a number of people about the veracity of the contents of video.
Padmavathi, whose husband died a few years ago, is making a living on the land which is ancestral property.
There seems to be an attempt to grab the land showing it as self-acquired property of her husband and tocreate a dispute on that land.``
In any case I am yet to see a person from this community in the villages acquiring additional pieces of agricultural land’’, he said.
The manner in which criminal cases booked against a 70-year-old widow on charges of kidnapping someone else and keeping her under detention and making her unmarried daughters to come and sign up in the police station register on a daily basis shows how the local police is being misused by the local leaders from ruling party,” he said.
