For prevention of online fraud : Cyber security training to city residents

Tirupati: With the rise in online fraud cases in the district as per the District Crime Records Bureau (DCRB), the cops are planning to provide training to select individuals from various sectors in prevention of cybercrime activities.
The focus of cops is prevention of data hacking and security for online cash transactions.
According to the Police department, cops would train select teachers, government and banking employees in cybercrime prevention.
The training module would be based on the Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) programme.
Hyderabad-based Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC) would be conducting training and awareness programmes.
In first phase, the police would conduct a training programme for trainers. Later, the trainers would provide training for interested at mandal-level.
Already, the CDAC has sent the training material containing booklets and posters to the district cops.
In a crime meeting held three days ago, the CCS DSP I Ramakrishna urged the bankers to extend cooperation for providing training in prevention of cybercrime.
The DSP further asked the bankers to install the Locked House Monitoring System (LHMS) app in banks for prevention of robberies.
Speaking to The Hans India, DSP I Ramakrishna said that they would be providing a week-long training to select people in prevention of cybercrime.
In the future, we would extend awareness activities, he said.
