Minister eyes more ranks for AP in next Swachh Sarvekshan

Nellore: Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana said that they had taken up desilting of drains across the state as part of the Swachh Andhra. 

The Minister inspected the works at Vanamthopu of 21st division here on Saturday. He visited KNR Municipal School in BV Nagar, MCPS School in Padarupalli in 24th division and another school in Sundaraiah Colony in the city.

Speaking to the media, Narayana said that civic bodies in the state have bagged 31 ranks across the country in Swachh Sarvekshan survey. 

He also said that they would get more ranks in the survey to the state next year after maintaining hygienic conditions in all municipalities.

Narayana informed that they are going to spend Rs 5,000 crore towards maintaining quality education in schools and for providing basic amenities in municipal schools across the state. 

He said they have been preparing proposals to develop Nellore as a model city by improving basic infrastructure in municipal schools. 

The process of finding issues in the schools has been completed in Nellore on Saturday, said the Minister. 

Narayana said that they had introduced several reforms in municipal schools in the district in the last four years. City Mayor Sk Abdul Aziz, former legislator M Sridhara Krishna Reddy and others were present.
