Visakhapatnam: A 48-year-old woman U Lakshmi created a flutter near the Collector’s office on Monday by climbing up a cell tower alleging that the revenue and police departments are not responding to her plea and providing justice.

However, the police who are on duty at the collector’s office successfully pacified the woman and brought her down safely. Speaking to media, Lakshmi said she was living along with her two daughters at her own house located in Ambedkar Colony in Malkapuram.

After her husband passed away, she is leading the family.  Her parents along with house, they gave some vacant land also to the family. However, a neighbour B Nagabhushanam, a retired policeman, occupied the vacant land and threatening her with dire consequences.

“When I tried to lodge a complaint at Malkapuram police station, they are not registering the case and supporting their former employee only. The revenue officials are also not verifying the facts despite I am having all original documents.

But, Bhushanam is not presenting any document against his claim. My parents gifted the house and vacant land. I have all valid documents, but the police are supporting Nagabhushanam only,” Lakshmi lamented. U Ramana, M Chinnarao, M Srinivasa Rao, B Gandhi, L Appalanarasamma and KV Ratnam were also supporting Nagabhushanam, she added.

As there was no response from the police and revenue officials, Lakshmi said that she planned to commit suicide and climbed up the cell tower. Later, the police brought her to Collector Pravin Kumar’s office. After registering her complaint, the collector assured her that he would investigate the issue and directed the officials to verify the records.
