ICU for children opened at King George Hospital
Visakhapatnam: The long-awaited and highly needed medical facility Child Intensive Care Unit was opened at the King George Hospital here on Monday. With the initiative of the district administration, the government sanctioned the new wing with 10-beds and five ventilators in the ICU.
Inaugurating the C-ICU, Collector and hospital development committee chairman Pravin Kumar said that with the number of institutional deliveries have been increasing in the KGH, the C-ICU is very important and highly required to save the children during the emergencies.
Pravin Kumar directed the doctors and other staff to maintain the C-ICU properly. Later, the collector inquired about the medical equipment in the wing. The doctors explained about the emergency treatment in ICU to the children. KGH Superintendent Dr A Arjuna, Head, Paediatric Wing Dr Venugopal, RMOs Dr Sastry and Dr Bangarayya were present.
