Reduce GST on cement to 18 %: Tirupati Chamber of Commerce

Tirupati: Tirupati Chamber of Commerce (TCC) has resolved to demand the government to reduce GST on Cement which is being used by everyone from its present 28 percent to 18 percent.

The annual general body meeting of TCC was held in Tirupati on Sunday and passed several resolutions. They have also resolved to work for making Tirupati plastic free city. It has also demanded the central government to operate direct flights to New Delhi from Tirupati.

Speaking on the occasion the National President of Confederation of All India Traders BC Bhatia has said that they have requested the government to simplify the procedures of filing GST and Income Tax returns. National Secretary Praveen Khandelwal said that government should give pension to all businessmen who pay income tax regularly when they cross 60 years.

AP Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Sambasiva Rao opined that the labour laws, ESI and PF policies should be amended. The President of TCC A Manjunath said that they have been organising several programmes successfully with the active cooperation of all the members. He asked the TTD to open Central Reservation Office in Tirupati too for the benefit of pilgrims and locals.  

The Secretary of TCC P Madhusudhana Rao presented the annual report while Treasurer KV Choudary has presented the financial statement before the general body. A blood donation camp was held on this occasion in which 51 units of blood was donated to Government Maternity Hospital blood bank. TCC members Sridhar, Hemanchandra Reddy, Chakrapani, Vasu and others took part in the meeting.
